Esther Yeakel 1798

Le voici mon premier encours Adam et Eve - Esther Yeakel 1798, un sampler américain de Carriage House Samplings.

Depuis pas mal de temps j'ai envie de broder Adam et Eve, et j'accumule des grilles de reproductions sur ce thème biblique. Mais j'en ai pas choisi une dans mon stock, car je suis tombée amoureuse d'Esther sur le site Etsy.com, où elle était soldée à moitié prix. J'avais hâte de commencer mon sampler!

For so long time I want to embroider Adam and Eve and I'm collecting reproduction charts with these biblical characters. Instead of choosing one from my stock, I fell in love for Esther's sampler halfpriced on Etsy.com. I was excited to start it!

Le modèle est simple, mais bien ordonné. Au centre, un grand arbre chargé de fruits. A sa gauche et à sa droite, le fameux couple habillé en tenues de fête. Au dessus de l'arbre, un cœur flanqué de deux perroquets. Deux bordures de fraises garnissent chaque côté vertical du sampler. La signature d'Esther longe le bas de la broderie. La fillette a signé en allemand: Esther Iaeckelin im Iahr 1798 ( Esther Yeakel, année 1798).

The model is simple, but well-structured. At the center a large fruit tree with Adam on the left and Eve on the right. The couple is dressed for a party. At the center top a hart with a parrot on either side. Strawberry border up both sides. At the bottom the Esther's signature : Esther Iaekelin im Iahr 1789 meaning Esther Yeakel in the year 1789.

Je suis à la moitié de mon ouvrage et je suis contente d'avoir choisi précisément cette toile, car le lin naturel fait ressortir les belles couleurs du sampler.

I'm halfway to my embroidery work and I'm so happy that the flax linen highlithes the pretty thread colours!
